Book Drive

Our annual Book Drive provides an opportunity to add new materials to our community and classroom libraries.

Books are purchased in advance, and our families are asked to select a book or books to donate to the Elementary Library (Sunset Trail campus), the Children's Lending Libraries (Sunset Trail and Great Northern campuses) or their classroom library.  Participation is optional but very much appreciated.  A bookplate is added to all newly donated books with the name(s) of the donor.

With our small operating budget, we rely on the generosity of our families to help keep fresh and inviting books on our shelves.  Although the book drive only happens once a year, donations are always welcome!  To make a monetary donation please click on the link below, indicating in the note that your donation is intended for our school libraries.

The children take great joy in discovering a brand new book on the shelves or finding the name of a friend or family member on the donor bookplate.  Thank you for your ongoing support and for your generous donations.

In gratitude,
Sonal Bowness

Our community libraries:

List of 2 items.

  • Sunset Trail & Great Northern Children's Lending Library (CLL)

This library is available in the afternoon for visits from our extended-day Children's House communities.  Extended-day children check out books to take home and share with their families; guides check out books for rotation in their classroom. Although COVID did not allow children to visit the CLL last year, books were checked out by the guides for enjoyment in the classroom.  We hope to return to extended-day visits this fall!
  • Sunset Trail Elementary Library

This library is available in the mornings to all elementary children. The shelves are filled with chapter books, research books, and biographies.  Books are checked out for classroom use by the children and guides. The library is also an additional workspace for the children.
