Please join us on Wednesday, February 13, at 7 pm for an evening with local psychologist, Carl Pickhardt, Ph.D. The topic for the evening is The Freedom Contract . Dr. Pickhardt writes, "A healthy adolescent is supposed to push for all the freedom to grow that he can get as soon as he can get it, and healthy parents are supposed to restrain that push within the interests of safety and responsibility." Come to the meeting to hear more about how that can work in your family.
This event will include a presentation by Dr. Pickhardt, and a period for questions and answers.
Dr. Pickhardt is the author of several books including Surviving Your Child's Adolescence and he also writes a weekly blog for Psychology Today, "Surviving (your child's) Adolescence." We have found Dr. Pickhardt to be a wealth of information and practical advice for parenting and mentoring adolescents and we are excited to welcome him back to our school. We highly encourage you to attend this gathering.
