Austin Montessori School is an independent school for children and adolescents from 16 months to 15 years of age, and the oldest Montessori school in Austin, Texas.
Our mission is to guide the development of each child towards their full and unknown potential. We cultivate compassion and respect, independence and belonging, and freedom and self-discipline, in rich academic and social environments that honor the complementary needs of the individual and the community. We provide an educational setting that is inclusive, recognizes the authentic nature of the child, and nurtures a reverence for the natural order of the universe.
Austin Montessori School's Early Childhood programs for children aged 16 months - 6 years old offer full and half-day options, five days a week. Our all-year programs are in session during spring break and through the summer.
The Montessori elementary curriculum is designed as an integrated whole serving the needs of children from 6 - 12 years old. We also offer after-school care, and enrichment programs during spring break and the summer.

"Every decision made by the school is done with great intention, resulting in excellence in every way. We are especially grateful for the care and thoughtfulness that went into planning during a pandemic."
From her observations, Dr. Maria Montessori found that children have inner powers and drives which support their development. As adults, we simply have to assist. As such, Dr. Montessori asserted that education is an aid to life and that education needs to support all aspects of human development.
