"Our family has been part of the Austin Montessori School community for the past seven years, and it has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our children. With a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old both growing up within this environment, we’ve had the opportunity to experience the school across multiple stages, and the consistency, care, and excellence have never wavered.
What stands out immediately is the Montessori philosophy itself. The independence, confidence, and genuine love of learning that it fosters in children is something you don’t fully appreciate until you see it firsthand. At AMS, this philosophy isn’t just something they talk about; it’s something they live every single day. The classrooms are thoughtfully structured, the pacing respects each child’s individual development, and the kids are truly empowered to take ownership of their education.
The staff, from leadership all the way down to every guide and assistant, are simply exceptional. It’s rare to find a school where you feel, without question, that every adult in the building genuinely has your child’s best interest at heart, but that’s exactly the feeling here. Over the years, every guide our children have had has been outstanding not only in terms of academic instruction but also in emotional awareness, patience, and communication.
One of the most impressive aspects of AMS is the tenure of its educators. When you have guides who have been there 15, 20+ years, that tells you everything you need to know. There’s a depth of experience, stability, and passion that you just can’t replicate, and it shows in the classroom every day. On top of that, the classrooms are consistently well-supported by assistants, ensuring that every child receives the attention they need.
As parents of children with dyslexia, finding the right school environment was incredibly important to us. AMS has done an outstanding job monitoring, supporting, and guiding our kids through their learning journey. The attention to their individual needs has been thoughtful, consistent, and effective, and most importantly, we’ve seen real progress. That level of care and customization has meant everything to our family.
Beyond the classroom, the culture at AMS is something special. The community is engaged, supportive, and genuinely invested. School events are always well attended, and it’s clear that the parents here care not just about their own children, but about the community as a whole. The school also offers a variety of parenting classes and educational opportunities that we always look forward to, which adds another layer of value and connection.
One of the most powerful experiences is seeing former students return and share their stories of where they’ve gone, what they’re doing, and how their time at AMS has shaped who they’ve become. Hearing those firsthand accounts reinforces what we already feel: this school builds a foundation that lasts far beyond the classroom.
There’s a reason Austin Montessori School has been around for so long and continues to thrive; it works. The model is proven, the people are exceptional, and the impact is real.
We couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this community."
